Xavier Cobo is a jazz composer and saxophonist.

He created his first ensemble with the release of his first album « Señor Vargas » in 1983.
The reception was hot, leading to many concerts in venues and festivals all around France and abroad. Recognized for its personal touch, the Xavier Cobo Quartet became much sought after.

After performing alongside prodigious artists and projects such as the ONJ, Ernesto “Tito” Puentes, Big-Band Lumière, Richard Bona, Bertrand Renaudin, Etienne M’Bappé, Paco Sery and a twenty-year collaboration with Eddy Louiss, Xavier Cobo surrounded himself with Romain Molist (piano), Thierry Colson (double bass) and Jérôme Villefranque (drums). All together they released the album “Song from Montevideo” in 2014.
This fourth opus revolves around compositions and standards, developing a type of jazz where complicity and spontaneity lead us to the essence of expression and improvisation.
