Jérémy Lirola is a double bassist and jazz composer – although he wants to remain free of any stylistic label. His energy and musical strength balance between deep melodies, sometimes evoking Paul Motian and Bill Evans, and wilder pulses from Steve Coleman’s urban New York universe.
His debut album “Uptown Desire” is entitled from Jérémy Lirola’s New-York experiences, a city he regularly visited in the 80s and 90s, exploring its jazz clubs and the experimental scene.
